Alan conquers Horeb

We had Alan stay with us for a week as he's keen to join our TIMO team in September and was on a short term mission in Lesotho, so decided to come see us.  We don't think we put him off!

He's not got long to raise all his support so please pray for him as he would be a brilliant team member.
We decided to climb Mount Horeb the tallest mountain overlooking Clarens to get an idea of the 'shepherd life'.  Jabu (who comes to our weekly film night at our house) joined us along with Roofy.

Mt Horeb reaches 2450m (8040ft), but even at this altitude we were around 500m (1650ft) below where the team in Lesotho will be based.

Pilanesberg National Park

A few pictures from our camping trip...

Early morning lion on the road for us!

Everyone's favourite!

Close encounters of the elephant kind - Ben's picture was better than mine!!

Rhino's everywhere

Prize for the first person to correctly identify this unique bird.

The longest neck in the animal kingdom (or any other kingdom I guess?)

We did have to regularly stop Zeke chasing the warthogs, baboons, impala and meerkats around the campsite!

Uncle Ben in Hillbrow, Jo'burg

We went to see Uncle Ben who lives in Johannesburg.  Here he is in the church where he works in Hillbrow (normally the most avoided region of Jo'burg).  We enjoyed going to church with him and then took him camping at a game park for a few days before all returning to show him the delights of Clarens.
Hillbrow at night after picking Ben up from the evening service - (Not easy to get a good shot when you don't want to stop the car or show anyone you have a camera on board!)

All having a nice drive with Uncle Ben

Girly Gallivants

The girls seem to be the only ones not struggerling with the mountain walks!
E and S and their Wicked Williamson's Pizza

As the boys have a dog we got the girls a cat (mainly to get rid of the rats!).
So far this is the closest we've got to the cat which is currently in permanent hiding under the girls bed!

Boys will be Boys (pics of the boys antics)

"This mud is far more fun than our mountain walk"
"High 5 anyone?"

"SIT puppy, SIT!"

"If I wait long enough the termites will come out!"

"Whose idea was an Easter Sunrise Service - it's freezing!"
"No mum, to access the Skype app on Windows 8 you need to..."

"You're it!"
""SIT Zeke, SIT!"

"Dad, you've driven me up the wall!"

"HIGHER ELLA!"

"Is someone going to push me?"

"Run now big toad before I torment you!"

The joy of being dragged round the shops....(from a small boys perspective)

THE END

Ella is a teenager!!!!!

Some how Ella has reached the age of 13.  We had a fun family day at a big cat sanctuary
and even Grandma and Grandpa managed to join us for the present opening via Skype!

Moving Madness - House 5!

We've finally moved for the final time!!  Zeph and Zeke are so used to moving that every-time we get in the car with a bag they ask where we're moving to and run to grab as many toys as they can carry, just in case we never return!

Zeke is also quite a good helper when it comes to moving!  Being the only one at home everyday with us he's seen more packing and moving than most!

The new house (24 Larola Street) is a nice 3 bedroomed house with enough living space for us to host, teach and feed the team when they come out in September and a really nice garden for the boys to play in and the adults to relax (yeah right!) in!  The landlords even left the braai (BBQ) for us!
